Low vs mid vs high fade.
The difference is where the fade starts. A low fade starts just above the ears and the neckline and keeps the most hair on the sides. A mid fade starts around the middle of the sides, at about the temple line. A high fade starts near the top of the head and takes most of the sides short, for the boldest contrast.
