How often should men get a haircut?
It depends on the style, not a fixed number of weeks. The shorter and sharper the cut, the sooner it shows growth: a skin fade needs the most upkeep, a classic cut sits in the middle, and a longer scissor cut can go the longest between visits. Book on the schedule that matches the look you want to keep.

By style
| Style | Upkeep | Book at The Chair |
|---|---|---|
| Skin fade | Most frequent. Growth shows soonest | The Crafted Blade Fade, $67 |
| Taper or blended fade | Frequent | The Chair Signature Fade, $57 |
| Classic short cut | Regular | The Classic Chair Cut, $47 |
| Longer or textured scissor cut | Least frequent | The Old Fashion Scissors, $63 |
| Buzz cut | Whenever it stops looking even | The Chair Buzz, $35 |
Signs it is time
- The neckline is fuzzy and the edges around the ears are soft.
- The fade has lost its contrast.
- Your hair stops sitting the way it did the week after the cut.
- A big day is coming. Book a few days before, not the same morning.
Growing it out?
You still need cuts, just smaller ones. Ask for a cleanup that keeps the length on top while shaping the sides and the neckline. Between cuts, a line up ($25) keeps the edges sharp. See every option on the prices page.

Questions
Quick answers
Still not sure? Call the shop at (773) 499-0045. Someone picks up.
How often should I get a fade?
More often than a longer cut, because a fade, and a skin fade most of all, shows growth soonest. A line up between cuts helps.
How often should I get a haircut if I'm growing it out?
Less often, but not never. Small cleanups keep the shape while the length comes in.
Can I book my next haircut ahead?
Yes. Book on Squire, or walk in when a chair is open. The shop is open Monday and Tuesday 10am to 7pm, Wednesday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6:30pm, and Sunday 10am to 6pm.
